On Mother's Day May 8th at 1 20 I was treated to lunch at Outback Steakhouse Table 52 in Brooklyn NY on 86th Street. My friendly server was Issac.

We had some problems mostly with Outback and not Isaac. I wanted prime rib Mother's Day Special, it was around 1 30 and I was told after waiting awhile for the service to find out, that the prime rib was not available, it was still cooking. This was very disappointing. In the meantime my husband and daughter order beers, which never came, but instead sat at the bar, by the time they were brought to our table, there was no head on it and it appeared already to be warm and possibly flat.

Again we had to wait, my daughter got her replacement a blue moon, but my husband who ordere a Fosters had to wait why you changed kegs. In the mean time they had nothing to drink. No water was offered to them Issac was so nice and overwhelmed being Mother's Day, that I don't blame him for the bar issue. He should have thought to ask if they wanted water.

We got bread and being hungry that went pretty fast. I asked for more bread but there was a long delay before it arrived. My daughter had a hard time with your menu as everything has meat, fish or chicken in it. SHe could nto order a Caesar's salad, as it has anchovies.

I gave her my salad that came with my Mother's 3 dish menu, and paid $1 for bluecheese. The lettuce was noticeably old (brown spots on it) and it was saturated in dressing which made it quite soggy. She would have ordered quesadillas but it had chicken in it. So she ordered mac and cheese but instead of coming with elbow macaroni it seemed to be rotini noodles, making the texture different and the cheese she said tasted fake, and it was way too garlicky (btw she loves garlic) so that was odd.

She ordered sides mashed potatoes and asparagus, the mashed potatoes was the serving size for a 6 year old, and asparagus was like 5 tiny thin and short slivers. Her sides were on the same plate and clearly did not seem to represent the price we paid $4.00 and $5.99. My husband ordered the porter steak and was a happy man. My steak and crab was ok, but my serving was tiny.

I wasn't crazy about the crab topping, I didn't think it blended that nicely with the meat. My steak was cooked at my desired medium rare so I was pleased by this. However I like condiments and even though I asked for steak sauce, it didn't arrive until the very end. I think a steak house should have condiments on the table.

Also, my request for bread came around that time. My husband had butter but no sour cream, that also came very late. Isaac is very charming and polite, so I am not going to blame him for all of these mishaps. My main issue is we would go to Outback more often if you could meet the challenge of feeding a vegetarian.

We have 4 grown children and 3 of them are vegetarians. I don't know why you can't prepare a fresh salad on the spot with no anchovies, offer quesadillas without chicken or meet inside, also should be able to serve that fresh, or offer a plate of steamed vegetables with brown rice. When I got home from this meal on Mother's Day I had to cook for my daughter so I am feeling distraught. We spent $103.66 for 3 people and yet I still had to cook.

In short have condiments on the table. I got steak sauce in a little plastic container. Consider having a vegetarian menu with its own insert. Beer has to be survived as soon as it is poured not 10 to 15 min.

later. In the early afternoon prime rib should be ready. That was the main reason I chose Outback yesterday. Keep Isaac he has a great personality and is a good server.

Mother's Day was a major challenge I realize for all your servers. However you should have the policy of serving everyone water.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $18.

Outback Steakhouse Pros: Waitress was great, Cleanliness, Porterhouse steak was fantastic, Steaks were cooked as desired.

Outback Steakhouse Cons: Lack of vegetarian options, Serving size for side dishes were tiny, No steak saucehot sauce at the table, No water was offered, Macaroni and cheese was awful.

Location: Brooklyn, New York

I agree with you, and it's even worse than you described. Outback steakhouse fries in animal fat so even its french fries and Bloomin' Onion are not vegetarian.

Why do people go out to eat on the busiest day of the year and act surprised that others had the same idea and that the restaurant was extremely busy with longer than normal wait times? As far as the request for a separate vegetarian menu, I would remind you that Outback is a STEAKhouse.
